Chinese New Year

Celebrate the Lunar New Year at City of Sydney Chinese New Year Festival from the 16th of February to the 4th of March, If you are wondering what family friendly things you can do during the festivities, we have made a list of whats on around Sydney so you don't have to! 
Sea Life Sydney Aquarium 
Art and Animals what a great and fun combination! This year at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, Chinese Australian multimedia artist, Tianli Zu, has designed 2 unique sculptures. The two art creations will be displayed within the aquarium for all guest to appreciate. You also have an opportunity to take home a little piece of Tianli's creation. DIY origami sheets and instructions are available at admission for your Bambini to tap into their creative side. This will be happening every day from 10am to 6pm from Monday 12th to Friday the 23rd of February. 
Chinese Garden of Friendship 
What lies ahead for you and your family during the year of the dog? Head to the Chinese Garden of Friendship with your bambini and write down your hopes and dreams, then add them to the hanging display in the garden. Take your kids after school or on weekends for a positive and hopeful experience from 9am to 5pm February 16th to the 4th of March. 
CNY opening night
If your kids love to see fire works, then attend the CNY opening night at circular quay. Enjoy a Frameshift performance and spectacular Lunar Lanterns, at 8:15 the fireworks will launch. This will be the perfect night to start off the Chinese New Year and the best part is that it's not on a school night! 
Guide Dog NSW/ACT graduation ceremony
You really don't want to miss out on this one! on the 17th of February from 5:30pm to 6:30pm you can watch the latest recruits walk the red carpet. They will be graduating from 2 years of intense training and receive their harness. You will also have the chance to meet and greet the adorable puppies.
