A Day in the Life: Milan
Yesterday marked the beginning of our LM Bambini buying trip, and Milan was our first stop. Known as one of the fashion capitals of the world, Milan is a city renowned for its designer boutiques, fashion shows, and influential fashion houses. It is the perfect destination for LM Bambini, as it is home to some of our favourite brands, including Dolce & Gabbana and Moschino.
Join us as we take you through a day in Milan, where we immersed ourselves in the world of fashion and exquisite Italian cuisine.
5AM: Nat our founder is awake (early bird gets the worm) and quietly gets dressed to not wake Alex and Teresa and heads downstairs to the office area to check her emails and catch up with work and check in with her kids back home.
8AM: The day begins with the team waking up and getting ready for the exciting day ahead. Teresa - LM Junior Buyer, and Alex, Europe Buyer, selected their favourite comfortable designer clothes, to prepare for lots of walking between designer showrooms. They head downstairs to meet Nat.
9AM: We start our day at Princi, a beloved spot in Milan for Nat. Princi is famous for its pastries and coffee, which we order in impeccable Italian. We sit in the sunshine, savouring our breakfast while reviewing our schedule and tackling any pressing emails.
10AM: Our first appointment of the day takes us to Moschino, where we meet their team and have the privilege of reviewing their new collection for kids and babies. The Italian designers graciously show us their favourite pieces, allowing us to handpick the ones that will make their way into the LM Bambini collection next season.
12.30PM: It's time for a leisurely lunch at Traditionale, a perfect Milanese restaurant we visit every year. Here, we indulge in the most delicious fresh pasta and pizza! We took this opportunity to reflect on the morning's meetings, discussing the Moschino range, and the pieces we fell in love with.
2PM: Next, we make our way to the Fendi showroom, where the impeccably dressed team awaits us. Here, we explore the new collection, asking questions about materials, the manufacturing processes, and pricing, all in pursuit of finding the best pieces to add to our collection.
4PM: A short break calls for a much-needed espresso to recharge and during this time, we review our favourite purchases from Fendi.
5PM: Next, we head to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a breathtaking shopping mall situated in the heart of Milan, right next to the Duomo. Our destination: the flagship stores of Dolce and Gabbana and Givenchy. As we peruse their latest collections, we can't help but sneak a peek at some adult pieces as well (shhh, it's our little secret).
7PM: With the day drawing to an end, we return to our hotel to answer emails and complete some necessary work for the day. As a team, we reflect on our notes, refining our buying plan for the following days to ensure we curate the perfect collection for our beloved customers.
8:30PM: In the evening, our team gathers for a delightful dinner at a chic Milanese restaurant, Sale e pepe. Here, we are captivated by the flavours of authentic Italian cuisine, savouring each bite and appreciating the culinary delights that Milan has to offer.
10PM: With the anticipation of heading to Paris tomorrow, we pack our bags and prepare for an early morning flight. Milan has treated us well, and we depart with hearts full of inspiration and excitement for the next leg of our LM Bambini buying trip tour.
